The new Field-Cycling Imager (FCI) being constructed at the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary has produced its first images, including heart and lungs. These were obtained during its commissionning, which is still under way. More improvements are expected after the rest of the system is completed but the image quality alread shows greatly improvements compared with the previous version of this technology.
