On January 28, 2025, V|LF-Spiro3D had the pleasure of hosting the seminar “The Physiologic Basis of Spirometry”, presented by Prof. Pierantonio Laveneziana from Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière – Sorbonne Université. The event took place at BioMaps – UPSaclay, with attendees joining both in person and online.
During the seminar, Prof. Laveneziana provided an insightful overview of the physiological mechanisms underlying spirometry, emphasizing its crucial role in assessing pulmonary function. He explored key concepts related to airway resistance, lung elasticity, and the factors influencing expiratory flow limitation. The discussion highlighted the importance of spirometric measurements in diagnosing respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, and restrictive lung diseases.
The event fostered engaging discussions among participants, encouraging a deeper understanding of spirometric data interpretation in both clinical and research settings.
