51st Congress of the Société de Biomécanique

October 29, 2026 – V|LF-Spiro3D at the 51st Congress of the Société de Biomécanique

V|LF-Spiro3D was presented at the 51st Congress of the Société de Biomécanique, held in Montpellier from 27 to 29 October 2026. Quentin Herszkowicz (BioMaps, Université Paris-Saclay) presented a one-dimensional solver for simulating respiratory airflow in the bronchial tree, using time-dependent boundary conditions at the distal airways.

This approach makes it possible to drive simulations with regional ventilation data, such as those obtained by 3D MRI spirometry, and is a first step towards modelling the full respiratory dynamics of the lung within the project. The corresponding paper is published in open access in the Multidisciplinary Biomechanics Journal.
