It may be synthetic or sensor-aided, future MRI will be augmented by the ruling equations and by the additional signals that new sensors would provide. Among the collection of synthetic imaging methods down to fingerprinting, ALMA’s joint multi-shot spin-echo sequence and B1-mapping is an efficient practical and readily-available approach.
With an original set of MRI-compatible ultrasound sensors, opportunities were taken to perform respiratory gating in MRI, PET, or radiation oncology, or cardiac gating in high-field MRI, and to detect bladder and prostate motion or to placenta or uterine contractions during MRI.
