Quentin Herszkowicz – PhD student at UPSaclay

October 2nd, 2024 – Quentin Herszkowicz, PhD student at UPSaclay

Hi, my name is Quentin !

I am a recently integrated PhD student, contributing to the European project V|LF-Spiro3D.

I studied applied mathematics in scientific computation. Last year, I did an internship at Service Hospitalier Frédéric Joliot (SHFJ) and I’m now in a four month contract to prepare my thesis which will begin in the coming months. I have gained valuable experience in parameter estimation and poromecanics, and I’m currently focused on the modeling and the simulation of respiratory mechanics in magnetic resonance spirometry as part of the V|LF-Spiro3D project.

I am really enthusiastic about being part of this project because of a large and dynamic team. It is interesting to be able to recreate all the respiratory dynamics of patients and to be able to research new perspectives and technologies (AI) for the medical diagnosis of respiratory pathologies.

Moreover, I could share my research and assist to other presentations. This could create exchanges with other researchers and find common works that can give ideas and other approaches to a problem.

Doing a thesis will allow me to learn to confront new problems and explore different approaches to solving them. Bye!
