My name is Ieva, and I am a PhD student at Erasmus MC hospital in the Netherlands. I am one of the many young researchers also taking a part in the European V|LF-Spiro3D project.
Currently, I am affiliated with two departments within Erasmus hospital: Radiology & Nuclear Medicine and Pediatric Pulmonology. I am also working at the LungAnalysis core laboratory, which specializes in chest image analysis for clinical research and for the development of innovative image analysis techniques for clinical care.
Previously, I have obtained a Biomedical Science degree with a specialization in inflammation and pathophysiology. During my study years I came into closer contact with the research world, which fascinated me.
I wanted to continue my journey in science by deepening my knowledge furthermore, for this reason I decided to start a PhD program.
Within my PhD and the V|LF-Spiro3D project my focus is dedicated towards pediatric population, where we aim to apply the new 3D-Spiro MRI technique for the pediatric pulmonary diseases.
I am very excited to be involved in this project, and I am looking forward to generating the first results! In this project, I hope to contribute to innovation, grow as a researcher and help society in benefiting from our work!
