From imaging dinosaurs to lungs at low field

May 27, 2025 – Seminar 13 -From imaging dinosaurs to lungs at low field

On May 27, 2025, Nicholas Senn (AMT) delivered a seminar titled “From Imaging Dinosaurs to Lungs at Low Field”, offering a compelling overview of his work over the past year on the V|LF-Spiro3D project.

Nicholas Senn joined the AMT Center at Aberdeen in April 2024 as a post-doctoral fellow, bringing his expertise in imaging science to the challenge of developing advanced lung imaging techniques using low-field MRI. This seminar highlighted both the scientific progress achieved and the future directions of the project.

Over the past 12 months, the V|LF-Spiro3D team has made significant strides in adapting imaging and analysis tools to work with very low-field MRI systems. Nicholas shared insights into technical advances and challenges encountered.

The seminar also served as an open forum to discuss the current state of the project at the AMT Center and outline next steps.

This presentation underscores the V|LF-Spiro3D project’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of lung imaging, with the broader goal of making high-quality respiratory diagnostics available in a wider range of clinical and research environments.
