First 3D dynamic images at Erasmus

July 2nd, 2024 – First 3D lung dynamic images at Erasmus

Erasmus and UPSaclay had anticipated the implementation of the 3D UTE sequence on the Erasmus MRI system before the V|LF-Spiro3D project began. It was running until the 1.5T MRI system was upgraded by GE Healthcare.

Then the sequence had to be updated. Angéline Nemeth at UPSaclay, Juan Hernandez Tamames and Piotr Wielopolski at Erasmus and Mika Vogel at GE were all involved in solving the problems that these updates raised at different levels. Finally, late acquisitions were performed and successfully reconstructed by Antoine Loquet at UPSaclay.

Three-dimensional lung dynamics appear! Optimisation is under way.
